JESUS CHRIST OUR ADVOCATE

JESUS CHRIST OUR ADVOCATE WITH THE FATHER

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." --1 John 2:1

In remarking upon this passage, I must,
1. Explain the sense in which the term "advocate" is here used;
2. Show what is implied in the existence of this office;
3. Explain the essential qualifications of an advocate;
4. State some of the conditions of his success.

1. An advocate undertakes for another and represents his case. He stands up in plead for his friend, and to use his influence on his behalf. The office is readily explained by reference to the common judicial proceedings, in which each side is managed before the court by one or more advocates. We must suppose the term is used in our text in the same general sense.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF HOLY COMMUNION

During the last supper in Mathew 26:17-29, while Jesus was reclining at the table with his twelve disciples, he told them that “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.”
Each one declining that it wouldn’t be them, Jesus replied, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.

THE HOLY COMMUNION (Introduction)

Do you still have questions about why Communion is so important? Why do we take Communion? What Does God say about Communion? How do we take Communion? I.D Samuel Ministries takes the Word of God as final authority in every area of life, so when we have a question, we go to God’s Word. That’s where we get God’s direction. In the case of the Lord’s Supper, or Communion, let’s go to God’s Word and find out what He said on the subject.
 What Does God Say About Communion?
 Communion is not just a religious observance. It’s a holy time of fellowship with God. Matthew, Mark and Luke all talk about this event. We are told in Matthew 26:26 that the night Jesus was betrayed, He and the disciples ate a last supper. This was a holy event in response to the commandment by Moses to memorialize an event named “Passover.”

20 REASONS WHY YOU MUST SPEAK IN TONGUES

Being baptized in the Holy Spirit does not make one believer better than another. There are no inferior believers in God’s Kingdom.
But what Baptism in the Holy Spirit does do is create an advantage. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit and more specifically, speaking in tongues, gives access to greater realms of God which benefits us deeply and those around us profoundly.
This post is not an apologetic defending Spirit baptism but it's for those who have experienced the fullness of the Spirit and want to go deeper in understanding its power and benefits.
In this article, I’ll share with you two lists. The first list defines five general, yet very important reasons, for what happens when we speak in tongues. The second list gives much more specific reasons why it’s so important to engage the Spirit by speaking in tongues.

Five General Reasons to Speak in Tongues:

1. When we are speaking in tongues, we are speaking directly to God.

This answers the, ‘who am I speaking to when I pray in tongues?”. When we are speaking in tongues, we are speaking in a language God has given us to speak to him.
 1 Cor. 14:2 “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men  to God,”

2. When we speak in tongues, we are

SPEAKING IN TONGUES

Introduction

"Speaking in tongues" is a topic of widespread interest in the Christian church. Many who are not familiar with speaking in tongues are often perplexed, amused, or disturbed when they first witness the phenomenon. Their reactions are understandable since it seems to depart from the natural. Even seasoned Christians with a thorough understanding of theology wrestle with the nature of the subject. Adding to its mystification is the fact that many Christian cults, the occult, Eastern mystics, and New Agers claim to exercise speaking in tongues. Thus, with all the confusion surrounding the subject, speaking in tongues deserves a look. While it is beyond the scope of this text to present the rationale for every viewpoint, we will do our best to briefly present the common views on this topic and explore what the Bible has to say about it.

THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD

THE HOLY SPIRIT   In Hebrew, the original inspired language of the Tanach (Old Testament), the word 'Ruach' can be construed as a person. It is a person. He is invisible and like wind, because He can be felt or experienced, but not seen. He is the breath of God which disperses His life-force, His energy and His intentions/mind. He is Yahweh's Spirit which is is omnipresent, but also can be directed in specific ways for specific purposes. He is not The Father (First Person of the Trinity), or The Son (Second Person of the Trinity) (which remain incorporeal in a sense and outside of our physical dimension) that manifests itself in the world, or which comes to dwell in the hearts and lives of His people; rather He is the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Triune God. He is God's Spirit.
His spirit can be said to be the emanation of His life-force - i.e. breath

OVERCOMING THE STORMS OF LIFE

Prophetic or not if you live long enough you will have to pass through many squalls both natural and spiritual. Storms like hurricanes and tornadoes are inconvenient but tolerable for those who are prepared for the heavy winds and rains. For others who ignore the watches and warnings they can be grave.

Storms are interesting creatures. They command our full and undivided attention, disrupt daily routines and steal time from busy believers. Some storms even prove to be deadly. But perhaps one of the most striking characteristics of a storm is its ability to reveal the real you. It seems that what’s in you, both admirable and dire, openly manifests during tempestuous times.

THE 7 SPIRITS OF GOD

Welcome to September! I believe the health of everyone has been supernaturally restored in August 2019. This month, we shall be exploring the various operations and dimensions of the Holy Spirit. To start with, this week, we shall examine the topic: Unveiling the Seven Spirits of God!
From the scriptures, we understand that Jesus has the seven Spirits of God at work in Him.
As it is written: And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead (Revelation 3:1).
