UNDERSTANDING LEADERSHIP By H.E Amb.Rev Bright Otso - Bishop Elect.

A good leader is futuristic or visionary in his thinking, he thinks of successors.

Leaders must have the ability to raise next generation leaders from followers.

What makes a successful leader is the ability to turn followers into leaders.

The greatness of a leader is not in the affluence or influence he command on followership but on leadership. It's easy for people to follow you but it takes leadership qualities for leaders to follow you.

The best leaders are passionate about developing emerging LEADERS because true leaders don't create more followers, they create more LEADERS.

Leadership is a responsibility. It's not about being in charge. It's about taking care of those in your charge.

Authentic leadership has always been built on a strong character. It's not just a role one plays; It's a life one leads, whether you are at home or the office.

Leadership is not bestowed - it is yours only as long as it is  continuously earned.

Leadership is not a position or a title, it is action and example.

Leaders don't force people to follow, they invite them on the journey.

When you were made a leader, you weren't given a crown;  you were given the responsibility to bring out the best in others.

Leadership has nothing to do with your title. It's incredible how many people believe that people will . respect and listen to them once they obtain a certain title or level of leadership.

Be the best possible leader you can!

Thank you.

Bodi tribe fattening camp

Bodi tribe fattening camp

In the Bodi Tribe (Ethiopia), the men with the biggest belly are most desired. The greater the abdominal volume, the more attractive they will be. But the preparation for the contest where the fattest is chosen is rather gruesome.

They drink fresh cow bløod and fresh cow milk for 3-6 months in a bid to quickly become fat and be crowned the fattest man. During the Kael ceremony, the winner of the contest is measured and receives great fame by the tribe.

Women and girls bring them milk every morning in their quest for big gut glory.

The only prize for the winner is fame and the adulation of his fellow tribesmen. The women take care of the fat men: they give them alcohol, remove the sweat, and sing for them to keep them awake.

"FIGHT YOUR FEARS WITH GOD’S WORD" By H.E Amb Rev Bright Otso, Bishop Elect

“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.” Psalm 56: 3 NKJV

FEAR AND faith are both powerful forces. And the one you surrender to will control you. So here are some Scriptures to fight your fears:

“Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord…will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” (1Chronicles 28:20 NKJV).

“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust” (Psalm 18:2 NKJV)

“In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Ps 56:11 NKJV).

“He will not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord” (Psalm 112:7 NKJV).

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me” (Psalm 23:4 NKJV).

“My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27 NKJV).

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT).

“Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love” (Romans 8:38 NLT).

Bottom line: Anything you set your mind of controls you, set your mind on God's Word and

Fight your fears.

 "NOW SET YOUR MIND"

“Set your minds on things above.” Colossians 3: 2 NIV

SETTING YOUR mind is similar to setting a thermostat; it determines the climate you live in. So, set your mind on God’s Word! Instead of trying to stop thinking wrong thoughts—which immediately brings to mind the very thoughts you’re supposed to stop thinking—fill your mind with God’s Word. Jesus told His disciples that the Holy Spirit would remind them of what He had taught them (See John 14:26). So when you file the Scriptures in your memory bank, God’s Spirit will pull those files when you need them. Picture an amateur pilot navigating through his first storm. He can’t see any landmarks around which to fly because they’re locked in a fog. But then a voice comes from the controller in the tower saying, “Just listen to me, and I’ll guide you.” Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NIV). Paul writes: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV). For example, what should you do when the economy is bad? Recognize that neither Wall Street nor Main Street decide your security—God does. What should you do when someone criticizes you? Take what’s good and let no one but God determine your worth. By keeping your mind on God’s Word, you’re at peace in any situation.

Thou shalt not be afraid!

Thank you

THOUGHTS ON GOOD LEADERSHIP" By H. E Amb. Bright Otso, Bishop Elect

"THOUGHTS ON GOOD LEADERSHIP" By H. E Amb. Bright Otso, Bishop Elect

“If a bugle call isn’t clear, how would you know to get ready for battle?” 1 Corinthians 14:8 CEV

NO MATTER how great your vision is, if you’re not someone people are willing to follow, it will never be realized. Who you are matters! The most important message you can share is yourself. People don't care how much you know  but they want to know how much you care.

"Where there is no vision the people perish" Proverbs 29:18, also where there is no people the vision perish.

Here are six thoughts on good leadership:

(1) Trust connects people to a leader’s vision; without it, they will be disconnected. With it, they will get on board and help move the vision forward.

(2) Leadership isn’t just about what you do; it’s about inspiring and encouraging others. Good leaders bring out the best in people by sharing the best in themselves.

(3) Just because you’re the leader, don’t run people over! Abraham Lincoln said, “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” With power comes the responsibility to serve, develop, and empower others. By helping them grow, you grow.

(4) Rules without relationship lead to resistance. You can have all the rules you want, but if you don’t invest in people and develop a relationship with them, they will rebel.

(5) Paul says, “If a bugle call isn’t clear, how would you know to get ready for battle?” So lead with optimism, enthusiasm, and positive energy, and weed out pessimism and negativity. Focus on solutions, not complaints. Philosopher Nicholas Murray Butler said, “Optimism is essential to achievement, and it is also the foundation of courage and true progress.”

(6) Good leaders don’t have all the answers, but they build a team that has—or can get them. Success is a process, not a destination. Winning is a by-product of teamwork, focus, and commitment. To succeed, focus on the people and the process, not the outcome.

Great leaders have  the special quality which causes people to be drawn to them like magnet. Keep in mind that these traits are not inborn;  they are attainable by anyone who cares about others people and wants to develop  his or her  relationship  skills.

Leadership is all about people.  It is not about organizations. It's not about strategies. It's all about people-motivating people to get the job done. You have to be people centered.

Leadership is Relationship

Thank you!

ABOUT HIGHER GROUND CONVENTION

When we talk about higher ground it means, some grounds are higher than others.

Psalm 61:1-2 Hear my cry O l, attend unto my cry, from the ends of the earth will I cry unto thee. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

There are seven levels of grounds.

1* The lowest one is called the bottomless pit. Revelation 20:1-3 says that on the last day Satan and all His agents would be banished to the bottomless pits. They just keep falling - there is no end to falling in the bottomless pit.

2* The second level is called the pit. This time it has a bottom. It is not bottomless and once in a while, people get into it as a result of disobedience. Again, once in a while people get into the pit as a result of enemy action. Genesis 37:23-24 says when the brother of Joseph saw him coming they decided him among themselves. They were going to kill him but one of the brothers said instead of killing him let's throw him into a pit and then when later on we see somebody who wants to buy a slave, we can sell him. There might be some of us who are in a pit right now that had been thrown there by the enemies. In the name that is above every other name, you will come out now in Jesus Name! (Amen!)

3* And then the next level which is level ground or valley. It is better than the pit because at least you have come out of minus, you are now at zero levels. It is still the place of discouragement. People who are in the valley, cannot claim they are really happy. They are struggling, struggling all the days of their lives. Once in a while they contemplate dying. In 1 King 19:1-4 when Elijah found himself in the valley. It got to a stage when he asked God to kill him. Some people are overwhelmed with problems. They are asking God you are not going to do something better, why don't you just kill me? If there is somebody like that here today, as a result of your coming here to this Convention you will sing a new song. (Amen!)

4* And then, of course, when we go from the valley, the next level you could call it the heights of a hill at least now you are climbing. 1 King 19:8-18 Elijah began his journey to the Mount of Horeb when he got there his confidence was restored. The man who was asking for death now said I don't want to die anymore; I want to serve the Lord. Beginning from this convention God will take you to the heights.

5* Then the next level is what we call the great heights or a mountain.

Now the people on the mountain are not easily touched. You become a terror to the enemy. In 2 Kings 1:9-14, Elijah was sitting down on the mountain top. Then some soldiers came and said they want to arrest him. He just called down fire from there. The fire consumed them. Now I want to issue a decree that after now all those who say they want to arrest you, the fire will fall.

6* And after the great heights the next one which is level six is greater heights, when you get to these greater heights, you become unstoppable. Your dress alone will open river Jordan and please take my word seriously after now, I know the reason many of you don't take the Word seriously is that I don't shake and shout when I'm saying what I'm saying. This is because God does not shake and shout when He wants to speak. He simply says, let there be light and then there will be light. The dress you are wearing tonight will open River Jordan (Amen!)

7* And then the level seven, that is the greatest height which is heaven. The Bible says that according to Ephesians 1:30-21, the Bible says we are seated in the heavenly places with Jesus Christ far above principalities and powers. There is someone here right now that Jesus is taking somewhere where no enemy can ever touch you anymore. If you are the one let me hear you shout Alleluia! (Alleluia!)Thank You, Father!

Now since the Convention began all kinds of healing have been taking place eye problems, ear problems, chest problems, back problems, hand problems, leg problems, problems with private parts, all of them have been taken care of! To the glory of God.

5 Steps To Take Financial Dominion

Learn to rule your finances in life Get God’s plan to prosper and bless you, so you can take financial dominion once and for all!

You have control. It may not seem that way at times, but that’s how God designed it. From the beginning, dominion was His plan for you—over the earth and everything in it (Genesis 1:28). Though Satan once stole this position, God returned to us our position through Jesus’ victory, ensuring our dominion and authority over sickness, disease, strife, poverty, lack and anything else under the curse.

When it comes to money, do you feel like you have financial dominion and authority over your finances? Or do bills, debt and work-related troubles seem to rule you instead? The world, the media and everyone around you seem to be under the weight of constant financial pressure. Even worse, they make you feel like you should be, too.

Consider this question: Have you accepted financial pressure, lack, debt and even poverty as a normal part of life?

Maybe you have a history of poverty or lack in your family, a long streak of lost opportunities, or debt that seems insurmountable. These are all areas of attack the enemy uses to dethrone God’s people from a position of dominion. If you’ve been there long enough, it may have become a way of life for you—something you can’t seem to push past in your expectation.

We have good news! No matter what your situation—you can have all God desires for you in the area of finances, and you can take financial dominion. You can be debt free, live in an overflow, give extravagantly, and rise to new levels in your career. He gives you the power to get wealth because He made a covenant with you to do so (Deuteronomy 8:18).

Are you ready to take back the financial dominion that belongs to you? When you understand the covenant, walk in obedience to God’s Word concerning finances, and resist any attempt to knock you out of position, you will know how to take financial dominion once and for all.

Here are five requirements for walking in Kingdom financial dominion.

1- Take Financial Dominion by Understanding the Covenant

“My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” –Psalm 89:34, KJV

There’s no way around it—to take financial dominion, you first must understand the covenant that provides for it. Sure, you’ve heard of God’s covenant with His children, but do you accept it and receive it? Or does it seem far off in Old Testament times, and not relevant for you here and now? This is what so many Christians get hung up on in the area of finances, which is exactly what Satan wants them to do because it keeps them from receiving!

So, what is the covenant between God and you?

The covenant you have with God is much more than a promise—it is a sealed and irrevocable agreement. God first established it with a man called Abram (later called Abraham). He promised to make Abram the father of many nations, give him a great deal of land as an inheritance, and much more (Deuteronomy 28). To make sure Abram knew this was absolute and unbreakable, God made a covenant with him, which was considered very serious in his day.

You may be thinking, I know the covenant was meant for Abram, but how do I know it was meant for me, too?

In Galatians 3:13-14, we read that Christ died to redeem us from the curse, “that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise…” (KJV, emphasis added). God sealed His covenant with you through the blood of His Son. That agreement is binding and forever.

Bishop David Oyedepo explains it this way: A covenant is “a deal enacted by God, based on well-defined terms and sealed with an oath.” When we read the Bible, we see that it is a book of covenants that allows us to access everything we need, including prosperity and financial dominion.

- How reliable is this covenant?

God’s Word is true and infallible, and it tells us as long that as we have day and night and the sun rises and sets, all of God’s covenants remain in force, including the covenant of financial prosperity (Genesis 8:22).

You can count on one thing: Every covenant of Scripture is reliable, dependable, guaranteed and binding on God for delivery. However, He is only obligated to deliver if you complete your end of the agreement by loving Him, which means you love Him with all your heart, soul and mind (Matthew 22:37) and by keeping His commandments (1 John 5:3).

2- Take Financial Dominion by Honoring the Tithe

“Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.” –Proverbs 3:9-10, NKJV

The book of Proverbs gives us a very basic principle of success. It is this: If you want God to honour you and bless you in any area of your life, you’re going to have to honour Him in that particular area.

If you want God to bless you financially, you first need to honour Him with your money, or as this verse puts it, “with the first fruits of all your increase.” In other words, you need to tithe. The word tithe means “tenth,” which means to give 10 per cent of your gross income to the Lord.

God considers the tithe crucial to your financial success (Malachi 3:10-11). That’s why the devil has fed the Body of Christ so many lies regarding the tithe. He doesn’t want us to ever have what rightfully belongs to us—which is THE BLESSING. You may say, I just can’t afford to tithe right now. But the truth is, you can’t afford to! If you don’t start honouring God with your money, you’ll be in the same financial position next year that you’re in today. “Any believer who is not a tither will remain a financial struggler” (Bishop Oyedepo).

3- Take Financial Dominion by Becoming a Giver

“May he remember all your gifts and look favourably on your burnt offerings.” –Psalm 20:3

Weren’t we just talking about giving? No—we were talking about tithing. So, how are tithing and giving different?

Giving is bringing an offering that is beyond the tithe, not instead of the tithe. It is a freewill gift to a person or organization. It can be in the form of money, clothing, food or almost anything else God prompts you to give.

In God’s system, this is how you increase. It is sowing seed for a harvest. The covenant we have with God is one of financial prosperity or financial dominion. It is God’s instrument to keep us from financial struggles, and it overrides any economic circumstance.

Our giving is the gateway to financial dominion and all-around favour. The greater our giving, the greater our access to financial increases.

- What are the different types of giving?

Kingdom-promotion giving is an offering directly given to a preacher, teacher or ministry to further the kingdom of God. This type of seed is not a financial donation to ‘help’ God, the church or the ministry. “It is a spiritual transaction that provokes the release of finances” (Bishop Oyedepo).

Worship offerings are another type of giving. The scriptures tell us to never go into God’s presence empty-handed (Deuteronomy 16:16). Why? Because God takes notice of every offering we bring when we are in worship. It is a form of honouring Him and giving Him complete trust with our provision and prosperity.

Giving to the poor is just that—offering your substance to help those in need around you. It can be someone you know or an organization that offers help and support to those who are struggling (Proverbs 19:17).

Each type of giving is considered sowing seed for a harvest. When you plant a seed in good soil, it will always reap a return!

4- Take Financial Dominion by Defeating Satan’s Attacks

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” –James 4:7, KJV

We talk often about resisting the devil, but it isn’t enough to simply know that he is a defeated foe, we must learn how to act on that truth. An important part of walking in financial dominion is knowing how to defeat Satan’s attacks. He has no intention of allowing you to prosper and advance the Kingdom. So, when you start walking toward financial dominion, you’ll fight with your hands. The good news? Because of Jesus—you win. All you have to do is believe it.

How do you resist the devil? You resist him with the words of your mouth. Keep in mind, you also submit to him with your words, so watch what you say! Refuse to give thought to anything the devil throws your way. Have bulldog faith, and keep the Word of God in your eyes, ears and mouth no matter what.

Finally, count it all joy when Satan tries to attack (James 1:2-4). That seems a bit outside our natural ability, doesn’t it? That’s OK because we have supernatural help to do so. When you trust in God’s covenant to provide whatever you need—you will be blessed.

5- Take Financial Dominion by Standing in Faith

“Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” –Ephesians 6:13, NKJV

You might be reading these points and thinking, I’ve done all of this. I do believe in the covenant. I tithe, I give and I speak words of faith. Why am I still struggling with my finances?

If that’s where you are, there is one thing left to do. Stand. How long do you stand? As long as it takes! Don’t attempt to go after financial dominion without first making the quality decision to keep applying your faith until you see the desired result.

Hebrews 10:39 (KJV) says that we can’t be someone who draws back. We have to stand firm in our faith—we can’t move in fear one day and back to faith another. That isn’t steady—it’s double-minded—and it won’t win the battle. We need the full armour of God to stand against the strategies of Satan. Additionally, don’t underestimate the power of agreement in finances—so be sure to surround yourself with people who know how to stand in faith.

Then, don’t neglect to use the power of patience. You need the patience to receive the promise of financial dominion (Hebrews 10:36)!

- What can patients do?

W.E. Vine says, “Patience is the quality that does not surrender to circumstances or succumb under trial: it is the opposite of despondency and is associated with hope.” In other words, patience will strengthen and hold up your faith until your results manifest.

-Remember, patience isn’t trying—it’s committing.

In conclusion, when you get a revelation of the covenant God has made with you, honour God with your tithing and giving, resist the devil, and take your stand, you will take the financial dominion that has always belonged to you. As you walk out of the covenant of provision you have with Almighty God, expect an encounter with your covenant. The covenant has never failed, and it won’t fail for you. As you do your part by engaging the covenant in your life, every financial stress will be terminated in Jesus’ Name.
