 *COMMENTARY* 

Forgiveness means letting go of past grudges or lingering anger against a person or persons. It is a conscious and deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance towards a person or persons. Vindictiveness is not of God. God is forgiving. The Psalmist said, "If you, Lord should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?" But there is forgiveness with you, that you may be feared" ( Psalm 130:3-4, NKJV?

Forgiveness is one of the contents of the Lord's Prayer which He taught His disciples. He demonstrated it during His earthly ministry and finally on the cross of Calvary where He, against all odds, prayed for His executioners and said, "Father forgive them for they do not know what they do" (Luke 23:34). He also taught His disciples forgiveness in several places in the Bible (Matt. 18:32).

There are other biblical examples of forgiveness such as Abraham who forgave his nephew Lot after he had behaved unwisely towards him in the matter between his herdsmen and Lot. Abraham let go of the past offence and interceded for Lot when God was about to destroy Sodom (Gen. 18:23-33). Stephen, a deacon in the early church and the first Christian martyr forgave his executioners and prayed to God to forgive them (Acts 7:59, 60).

Why should we forgive?

 We should forgive because God is forgiving and we are made in His image (Gen 1:27). 

We should forgive because unforgivingness is sin and wickedness (Matt. 18:32). 

We should forgive so that we may be forgiven (Matt. 6:14, 15). We should forgive because we all are imperfect beings. 

We should forgive because of our differences and background. 

We should forgive because unforgivingness hinders prayers and blocks blessings while forgiveness is the key to personal peace, freedom and to releasing of blessings

 *COMMENTARY* 

Pride is the promotion of self. It makes one think that he is self-sufficient and possibly would not need the help of others or God. Little do they proud realize that everything is in the hands of Elohim (Creator). If He decides to remove his hand to which He upholds all creation, then what we trust in will definitely

collapse.

2 Chronicles 26:5 "As long as he (Uzziah) sought the Lord, God made him prosper" verse 16: But when he was strong, his heart was lifted to his destruction. No wonder the Bible stated "For

whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbled himself shall be exalted." Self-exaltation is the mother of destruction. Someone once said: "Pride is taking a quick ride to hell." Jesus being God remained humble even to the death on the cross, what a shameful way to die. But by the will of the Father, He humbles Himself. It takes humility to do the will of the

Father.

 *Pride manifest from comparison.* The Pharisee in Luke 8 was swallowed up by pride and never saw any other person as being qualified. He is the only one that should be given attention. Pride wants us to know how we are doing compared to others. We want to get our identity shaped by looking at others who have or have not matched up.

 *Pride rejects wise counsel.* Uzziah rejected the counsel of the Priest. He showed off himself as "always right." So he spoke and will not allow others to speak. He was in charge of everything and that got to his head. So his pride repelled corrections and birthed

arrogance.

Today, we need to expose ourselves to Godly standards, living a life full of love, "For love is not pride. God's love exposes us to humility that anyone who accepts his love becomes honest to God, himself and others.

 *COMMENTARY* 

Envy is like cancer; it gradually destroys the body until the patient is finally dead. Although some have survived cancer, however it was not easy to get over it. So is envy "..but envy rots the bones" Prov. 14:30. The best way to understand envy is when an individual develops resentment over a person or group of persons for what they have or who they are.

From our text today, you can see that the brothers of Joseph became envious of the lad because he had told them about his dreams and his coat of many colours given to him by their father.

They gave themselves to resentful desires which led to Joseph being sold to some Egyptian merchants.

Cain's resentment led him to kill his brother, Abel. Aaron and Miriam's resentment made them to look down on their younger brother, Moses. King Saul's resentfulness set him up against David.

The above are few Biblical examples of those who resentfully related with certain individual God brought into their lives. You can also see what happened to them; the brothers of Joseph came to him, weeping and asking for forgiveness. Miriam was covered with leprosy; Cain became a vagabond. Saul was killed and lost the throne to David.

Think about the end result of those who allowed envy to control them. If you allow envy to grow it produces other foxes. Master Yoda of Star Wars movies once said, "Envy leads to Jealousy, Jealousy to Hate, Hate to Anger and Anger leads to the Dark side."

Jesus has given us power over envy. We must see life and all therein (what God has enabled someone to become or have) through the eyes of His grace.

*COMMENTARY*
Teacher Folashade Adegbeye (aka Teacher Sade) has been teaching primary school pupils for 20 years but it was three years ago that she was confronted with a challenge that woke up a streak of creative diligence nestling dormant within her all these years.

lt happened when Teacher Sade found out that one of her pupils worked in a car-wash to fend for himself. The boy had no place to sleep and no one to take care of him, so he slept at the car wash. He was just about to drop his quest for education when his teacher found out about his problem and started encouraging him not to
quit.

To encourage the boy and other pupils who were passing through diverse challenges of their own, Teacher Sade came up with motivational and inspirational quotes which she used to prepare and brace the minds of pupils before presenting her curricular work. The results proved very effective with the pupils and the results she has been recording are extraordinary. When she uploaded a video of her unique teaching method in May 2022, it immediately went viral and in June 2022, the Lagos State Government gave her a special Merit Award complete with a brand new car gift.

Can you see what diligence can do? Take note that apart from the excellent classroom work she did, she was diligent enough to do an
inspiring video of her work and upload it on the internet. Without that video, she might never have been recognized and rewarded by anybody. Diligence demands going the extra mile.

The wise teacher of the bible tells us that "Lazy people want much but get little, while the diligent are prospering," and Do you know a hard-working (diligent) man? He shall be successful and stand before Kings!" (Prov.13:4; 22:29 TLB). Even if you are working in obscurity, diligence will bring you out to the limelight where your hard work will be recognized and properly rewarded.

Revelations is God's disclosure of his own nature and his purpose for mankind, especially through the words of human intermediaries or something in which such a divine disclosure is contained such as the

bible. Revelations are revealed truth that empowers us to rule and to reign in our area of calling. Revelation is also

known as Rhema which means a spoken word of the written word of God (Bible).

Revelation turns you to another god, Ps. 82:6, revelation will reveal who you really are. There is power in revelation that will shift you from begging to giving or from being sick to healed, Mark 5:34-35. "Whenever revelation is born your rising is guaranteed, revelation is just like stepping out of sin consciousness into son consciousness or stepping out of failure into success" E.W Kenyon.

When you get access to divine revelation, you will be empowered with: divine backing, Dan 2:14-19. Boldness, Act 26:24-28. Divine identity, 1 Cor 15:9-10. Conqueror Spirit, Rom 8:3. Life of Purity. Until you know who you are in Christ, you will be relegated and

oppressed in life.

 *COMMENTARY* 

Passion is a supernatural force that finds natural expression in

man. It is a force that propels someone into action. It is a consistent spiritual hunger or drive towards accomplishment, (Philippians 2:13). Passion is known to be zeal. It also means keeping your mind and the entirety of your being intact for a defined goal. Without passion it becomes difficult to accomplish any task, the journey to stardom is not devoid of challenges and oppositions but passion leads you through these rough paths with less or no discouragement.

Our text connotes that Jesus' life was a manifestation of his Passion. For instance, he was driven (Passion) by the Spirit into the Wilderness where he fasted for forty days and nights. Matt 4:1. He also stated that my meat is to do the will of he that sent me and finish it. John 4:34. Therefore, as believers we must realize that the same power that quickened Jesus is in you and is there to help you actualize your Dreams.

Let's consider some Characteristics of passionate people:

✔️ They are courageous.

✔️ They are always excited all the time.

✔️ They are self-motivated.

✔️ They are single-minded.

✔️ They are positive-minded all the time.

✔️ They are excuses-free.

✔️ Passionate people are always determined.

 *Benefits of passion:* 

✔️ Passion gives you the drive to move on.

✔️ Passion makes you progressive.

✔️ It guarantees victory and stardom.

✔️ Passion gives the capacity to influence others.

✔️ Passion disconnects you from unserious people.

✔️ It guarantees victory and stardom.

*COMMENTARY*

Wisdom is also the correct application of knowledge, it takes wisdom to do exploit in the race of life, Ecc10:15:

Job32:8.

 *Earthly wisdom:* Earthly wisdom or sensual wisdom is referring to the wisdom of the world; it is intellectual wisdom, technological wisdom.

 *Devilish or satanic wisdom:* this is diabolical wisdom which occult people operate with.

 *Divine wisdom:* Divine wisdom or wisdom of God: this is wisdom from above, it is the supernatural order of wisdom, (James3:15). This is the kind of wisdom that only believer can operate in.

 *How do I access this wisdom?* 

¶ You must be born again, (Mark 4:11).

¶ By prayer, (James 1:5).

¶ The word of God, (2Tim3:5).

¶ Every book is made up of pages but bible is made up of wonders, (Ps. 119:18, 98; 1 king 4:29-32).

 *The pros of wisdom are:* 

¶ Wisdom of God enthrones you to stand above all, (Luke 21:5).

¶ lt empowers us to stand out, (Dan. 6:1-3).

¶ It empowers us to operate above the realm of mortal man, (2 Sam. 14:20).

¶ Wisdom is principal in the making of stars, (Gen. 41:38).

¶ Wisdom is better than weapon of war, is even far better than the greatest riches of the earth, indeed divine wisdom of God rule the world.
