Your legal rights in Christ part 1

Becoming all you are created to be.

Introduction:
The oxford advanced learner’s dictionary defined the term legal as ’’based on or concerned by law'' While right is defined as, Proper authority or claim, the state of being entitled to something. Something to which one has a just claim or something someone may have or do by law.

Legal right is what you are entitled to by law or what you have a proper authority or
claim backed by law, something you may have backed by law.

It can also be defined as right backed by law.

Do we have any right before God backed by law? (i.e. A Right that cannot be denied?)

This is the subject of this study. What qualifies us human for such a great honour and privilege before the almighty God?

First, it is very important for us to realize that our 'legal right ' before God has nothing to do with who we are or what we have done ,but it is all about him (God and Jesus), what he has done and what he is doing NOW.

In the natural you can have legal right base on any of the following:

  1. Purchase for you - when the price of something has being paid for you, either by yourself or someone else.
  2. By conquest, or working for it
  3. By birth or inheritance
  4. Given to you

We qualified for legal right with god through all of the following:

  1. The price Jesus  paid  for us  in redemption - All he  obtained  for us in redemption  are ours legally  Hebrew 9:12 - 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us eternal  legal  rights.
  2. By conquering the devil  he obtained  for  us a legal right to complete authority and dominion over the devil and his works Luke 10:19. V19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and overall the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
  3. By birth into the family of God - we become sons and have the legal right  John 1:12.11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. V12 But as many as received him, to them gave him the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in his name.
  4. In Christ all things of God has been given to us - 1Corinthians 2:12;3:21, Romans 8:17.

Why do we need the knowledge of our legal rights?

  1. To fight the good fight of faith - fight and enforce our rights 1 timothy 6:12 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
  2. To enjoy the fullness of our redemptive rights and privileges in Christ  Ephesians 3:15-20 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, V16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; V17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, V18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; V19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. V20 Now unto him that can do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
  3. To have the assurance of answered prayer always.Psalm.65:2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: V15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
  4. To live in victory and glorified God who delights in our prosperity. 1 John 5: 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
  5. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?   Psalms 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
  6. Knowledge of your legal right makes your faith very aggressive and productive. Psalm 82:4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. V5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. V6 I have said, Ye are gods, and all of you are children of the highest. V7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. Dan.11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. Prov.24:4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. V5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
  7. To use the power of God and our legal right to men from satanic oppression.
  8. Until we know our legal rights in the family of God we will never become outstanding in our faith life.-E. W. Kenyon
  9. To make a display of the manifold wisdom  of God - Ephesians 3:10.10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
  10. To show forth the praises of him that has called us out of darkness 1 Peter 2:9.
