THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PLACE
THE PRINCIPLE OF DIVINE PLACEMENT
Have you ever heard the statement to go to the church of your choice?
It sounds nice and we tend to believe it but in reality the church we attend is not our choice it’s Gods! God will not bless you just anywhere you go.
Genesis 2:8 The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed.
Amos 9:15 I will plant them in their land, And no longer shall they be pulled up From the land I have given them,” Says the LORD your God.
Genesis 2:15 Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.
1. God planted the Place.
2. God put man in the Place.
3. God gave the man purpose in the Place.
God made places before He made people.
BEING IN THE RIGHT PLACE WILL RELEASE THE BLESSINGS OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE
Luke 1:26-38; 2:1-7
a. Mary had a Promise and a Purpose.
b. Mary knew the Power to bring that to pass.
c. Mary had the faith to believe.
But to arrive at this promise she had to go to a place called “there”.
Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.”
THE PLACE IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE PROMISE
Bethlehem. Luke 2:6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.
It was a place that was:
a. Uncomfortable to get to. A journey while nearing the end of her pregnancy.
b. Unfamiliar to her, she had never been to this place before.
c. Unwelcoming in its apparent reception. There was no room in the Inn.
It was a place where:
a. Her promise was delivered.
b. Her promise was recognized. (Wise men and Shepherds)
c. Her promise began to change her life and the life of others. (v 21 8 days circumcision)
THE PLACE FOR US IS A PREAPPOINTED PLACE
1 Corinthians 12:18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
Colossians 1:18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
The church is the Body of Jesus.
Ephesians 1:22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,
The comma is after church revealing that Gods Body is the church, which is universal yet, local in geography.
So when you get “Born Again” Jesus doesn’t leave you wandering around aimlessly but He will place you where He wants you. Notice 1 Cor 12:18 we are set in the church as He (Jesus) pleases. He doesn’t allow us to be birthed without a home!
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
God knew you before you came forth into the earth. He knew when you would come, where you would be born, where He wanted to place you.
Acts 17:26 “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings”
Your success is linked to a place: the place where God assigns you. How you get there may be another story.
Citrus fruit does well in Hawaii but it doesn’t do well in Northern Ontario.
We are chosen generation, born at a specific time for a specific place for a specific purpose.
Your calling involves a place, a purpose and a people.
Your calling involves boundaries that you should cross, and boundaries you should not cross. Canaan had to be entered yet could be left.
E.g. Abraham Genesis 11:31 – 12:1,7 10.
Ruth 1:1-5 then later Naomi returned into the blessing.
Paul wanted to go to Asia God said no go to Phillipi. Miracles happen in the place you are set.
Deborah, Judges 4:5 And she would sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the mountains of Ephraim. And the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
