LIVING A KAIROS LIFE IN A CHRONOSE WORLD.

Daniel 2:12-16 KJ21 - 12 For this cause the king was angry, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain, and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard, who had gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon.

15 He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, “Why is the decree from the king so hasty?” Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

16 Then Daniel went in and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would show the king the interpretation

Everything we do is marked by the steady march of time. Seconds lead to minutes to hours to days to weeks to years to decades to centuries.

The problem for all of us is that the clock is always running the wrong way, and we simply cannot stop its precipitous crawl toward the next tick. We lose moments to the past, out of our reach, never to be regained.

Where did all the years go?

The kids have grown and gone. We're muddling along in a career, making a living, just existing out of habit more than anything.

Did I miss out on my chance to make a difference?

The Greek language has a couple of words that mean "time." The first is the most familiar—chronos. It means the chronology of days, governed by the carefully calculated earth's sweep around the sun. God himself ordained this measurement of days on the fourth day of Creation, spinning the heavenly lights "for seasons, and days and years."

Boy, do I know about time? The wrinkles etched on my face; the wrinkles etched on my heart are the visual reminders of Chronos.

But another word for time is also used in the New Testament—kairos. This speaks more to specific, God-ordained times throughout history, sometimes called the "right time" or "appointed season" (Titus 1:3). Kairos is God's dimension—one not marked by the past, the present, or the future.

When Jesus came, it was a fulfillment of promises past, a cosmic collision of the sacred and secular. It was an intersection of the holy will of God and the stubborn ways of man. It was a perfect moment. John the Baptist said in Mark 1:15 that "time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand."

This godly kairos pierced its way into a creation at just the right time, slicing through chronos with a cry of a baby in a manger.

The cross was another Kairos moment. Romans 5:6 says, "For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly."

Kairos moments then—and now—allow us to get a glimpse of the "other side." We peek around the corner at eternity. We glimpse how God works.

As the omniscient, omnipresent Deity, God is not bound by the confines of space or time. That's why He flows into our existence when we least expect Him. When we ask for something right away, it might not always come. Or when we don't ask at all. But he shows up. It can be frustrating, "With the Lord one day is as a thousand years." It can also be surprising "a thousand years as one day." (2 Pet 3:8).

We should always live our days looking for those moments, those inexplicable times when His will and his way intersect with our daily walks.

And they can happen anytime! A friend calls you out of the blue to give a good word. A child's innocent joy pierces a long, hard day of struggle. A coworker takes a moment to lend a hand. God is always surprising us with his perfect, kairos timing.

Am I ready, waiting, and watching for him to move in my life?

Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMP - He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time

Time is our most precious resource. It is perishable and irreplaceable.1 God in his grace has given us all the same amount – 24 hours per day. The quality, joy, and impact of our lives are directly related to how wisely we use the time we have.

This does not mean that we have to hurry or hustle through.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.

Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 AMP - 11 I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift and the battle is not to the strong, and neither is bread to the wise nor riches to those of intelligence and understanding nor favor to men of ability, but time and chance overtake them all. 12 For man also does not know his time [of death]; like fish caught in a treacherous net, and birds caught in the snare, so the sons of men are ensnared in an evil time when a dark cloud suddenly falls on them

Insane Work Ethics still pays.

You must work hard if you must succeed. There is no shut cut to success. For all the men and women who got it up there that you admire today, non of them got up there without hard work.

Elon Musk was putting in about 80 to 100 hours per week equivalent to an average of 14hours per day.

Mark Zuckerberg puts in 50 to 60 hours per week.

Warren Buffet works for about 56 to 63 hours per week.

Jeff Bezos puts in about 60 to 70 hours per week.

Jack Dorsey admitted sometimes working for up to 120 hours per week.

Jack Ma was quoted saying working 12 hours a day, six days a week is a gift “beyond monetary gains,” the Chinese billionaire is the co-founder of the Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. He has repeatedly endorsed the 72-hour “996” schedule — or working 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. six days a week.

Kobe Bryant worked out 6 days a week, 6 hours a day, and 6 months a year. This 6-hour routine was divided into 2 hours of basketball skills, weightlifting, and track work.

Michael Jordan gave 6hours also.

Steve Jobs worked tirelessly for the success of Apples. He worked 10 to 13hours per day six days per week.

Bill Gates was putting in about 80 to 120 hours per week.

Larry Elison the founder of Oracle use to put in about 80 hours per week into work...

Now these guys and many more are there changing the world by putting these huge and insane hours into work, research, and execution.

Try putting 8hours per day into a desired goal for two weeks and write the result, then go for another two weeks of relaxing and doing nothing for 8hours in a day for another two weeks and write the results. What's the difference?

So, how about you, what are you doing with your time? Watching Netflix? Watching Zee World? Watching premier leagues? Watching all the movies in the world and sleeping for more hours in a day than you expend into work?

I don't understand what they call 'smart work', that's a talk for another day.

Nobody gets rich in complacency. Nobody gets rich by sleeping. Nobody gets rich without hard work. There is only such thing as hard work and I mean insane hard work if you want to get there. What are are you trying to change in our world?

The key remains hard work. The rules haven't changed. Hard work pays.

Good morning folks.

*

🔑 *KEY VERSE:*
"Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God" (Mathew 5:9)

*TODAY'S TEXT*
1 Samuel 25:23-28

*MESSAGE*
We all are angels with one wing we need each other to fly. With this understanding, we realize that the objective of every relationship is to bridge the gap in leadership and followership as we have in the case of Moses, Aaron and Hur. Family relationship, in the case of Moses and his father In-law, Jethro etc.

In our text today, another example was Abigail and Nabal her Husband whom the Bible described as a sure and mean person in his dealings. When Abigail was informed of what transpired between her husband and the servants of David, she knew that whatever decision David took concerning her husband's attitude will be justified. She didn't wait to see what will be the outcome of David's decision rather she ran to David and bridged the gap. She
saved her husband from the wrath of David.

The Bible encourages us to be peacemakers. Heb. 12:14 states that "follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord...." Let us be those that bring peace. It is said that "blessed are the peacemakers." you know what to do to bring calmness, don't be the one that fans the flame and causes chaos.
Heb. 12:14

Today, determined to be the one that will make things work for good.
Resolve to be a peacemaker for such are called "Children of God.
Do you have peace? Do you Bring Peace? This is one important mark of a child of God.

🔑 *KEY VERSE:*

"But I discipline my body and bring it into the subject... " (Corinthians 9:27).

📖 *TODAY'S READING:*

1 Corinthians 9:19-27

📜 *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*

1 Samuel 18-20; Psalm 11, 59

*COMMENTARY*

Discipline is the force that removes the element that ruins a soul, and in its place instils a noble winning character. In an unruly and uncertain world such as ours, we cannot afford to depend on an undisciplined nature, the consequence is that when pressure comes, we crack and crash, and so goes our hope. The culture of discipline enables life to form habits along the lines of anticipated goals. If we keep practising, what we practice becomes our second nature, then in a crisis and the details of life, we shall find that not only will the grace of God stand by us, but also our nature. Whereas if we refuse to practice, it is not God's grace but our nature that fails when the crisis comes, because we have not been practising in actual life.

To win in the affairs of life we must develop the right character and overcome personal weaknesses. God does not make it easy for His children to develop character and overcome their weaknesses. A Royalty is often made to undergo the arduous and rigorous training that fit him for the throne, and our heavenly Father would not do less for the heirs of the Kingdom. He has so ordered the world that we must discipline ourselves in every area of life. To lose weight, we must discipline ourselves in matters of diet and exercise. If your goal is spiritual maturity, you achieve it through personal and corporate worship, fellowship with other believers, bible study and meditation, obedience, prayer, and worthwhile conversation and behaviour.

The Apostle Paul compared the Christian's life to that of an athlete who trains hard to win a prize. The coach tells the athlete what to do, but the athlete has to get out there and do it. Likewise, we must depend on God for His help and grace, but we must also do our part, and that is the difficult part of self-discipline.

"And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform" (Romans 4:21).

*TODAY'S TEXT*

Numbers 11:10-15

*MESSAGE*

The above topic was the exact words of the leader of Israel as they journeyed to the Promised Land. The people of God he was leading were coming to him with all their cares and worries like kindergarten pupils seeking guardianship. The burden of responsibility on the leader was not in doubt but the leaders were everything but considerate. They were easily excited and poignantly discouraged. To assume sole responsibility for a family, a shop, an office, a church or a school is no mean feat for an average person but the supervision of more than three million people, where a number of them were not reasonable and others selfish, was something else.

One day the intensity of the pressure rose to a boiling point and he cried out "I am not able". However, paradoxically, "God is able". The problem with Moses is the same problem with most of us today. We assume responsibility for what is not ours, what God has expressly promised to shoulder. Like the Shunamite lady in Songs of Solomon, who was keeping others' vineyards but left hers unattended.

Moses was a superhuman, almost could be described as a bionic man in his disposition. He was extraordinary as a devout and his humility and discipline was a gift from the Creator. Yet he had not reached the point of carrying all his anxieties and responsibilities to Him who judges righteously. Moses had confidence in his ability to handle all his assignments. He goofed, as God decided to take him to the class of the inabilities.

It is very clear that all of us need to understand our inabilities on everything spiritual and to see that every resource and responsibility in the Christian life and service belong to and are inherently in God alone and that nothing is hard for Him to do, no exigency, no problem or no difficulty, nothing surprises Him. God is well able today and every day. May we receive an understanding of His unfailing ability and bury our inability in His ability at all times.

*TODAY'S TEXT*

James 2:1-9

*MESSAGE*

My uncle once visited us and demanded water being my favourite uncle, I served him water in a special cup without hesitation. Then he asked me if l could use that special cup for any other person whom I didn't know. No, I said. His message was that I should treat everybody equally. This is the golden rule formula; treat others the way you want to be treated. The objective is to show kindness to everyone.

Most times we see discrimination among believers, especially when it comes to do with sharing of food or items. Discrimination is never done concerning honour but a show of belittling an individual or group of people who you do not like or are not from your place or your class. Such is not an attitude of a child of God.

Today, God is calling us to treat people equally. Be accommodative and accessible, as such more souls can be won into the kingdom of God. Don't discriminate. We are all created in the image of God. Paul said There is neither Jews nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you, are all one in Christ". With this understanding, believers can live by the golden rule.

"  Do not give the devil an opportunity" (Ephesians 4:27, NET)

*TODAY'S TEXT*

1 Peter 5:5-11

*MESSAGE*

When we talk about resisting the devil, it could be approached from many angles. But for our purpose today, we are inclined to state that "resisting" indicates whatever we get from the Lord. its security is partially our responsibility. God provides us with the instruments of resistance. If we fail to pick them up and add action, we have no other to blame but ourselves.

Satan is poised against God and all His works, he endeavours to undo what God does but the scriptures state, "Whatever God does will endure forever..."(Eccl. 3:14 NET). All the evil that has ever come to us is from the devil. When the Lord gives deliverance and drives the satanic agents away.

The devil will say, "I will return to my former house, where I was driven out before". It is God's will that he will not return.

We are all in the land of our enemy, subject to his attacks, spirit, soul and

body but we are counselled; give no place to the devil. It means that if he attacks, he will find no place except we yield the ground. If we sin, we have yielded gr

In addition, the blood of Jesus provides a strong

resistance weapon with faith in Christ's death and resurrection. Others are the word of God, praise and worship, praying and fasting, fellowshipping with others and finally diligence at all times.

l attended Federal Government interviews on invitation at the professional cadre some years ago. I arrived quite ahead of time. As the discussion was filtering, I discovered two documents were not in my possession and were vital for the day. Certificate of State of Origin and L.G.A. It was a big problem. Someone advised me to go to my State Liaison Office and secure them. I dashed out. Before the processing and my back trip, the interview was over and they had selected the successful candidates.

Many were stepping out from the venue. I contemplated joining them but God told me not to go. I managed and entered their boardroom, all have left except the

chairman. He asked me, Young man, what is it? I narrated my story. He asked me which University and where is my NYSC Certificate. I provided them, and after

glancing through them, he did not ask me a single question. He told me to go. Two weeks after it was published, my name was the first on the success list. One of the ways to resist the devil is by listening to God and obeying Him. Go by

His bidding and put the devil to the flight.

1 Chronicle 16:8-34

*MESSAGE*

Many years ago, in a group Bible Study, we deduced it is an appropriate thing to begin every prayer with praise. On my level, I decided to domicile the awareness of my devotions by spending five minutes in praise and then five minutes in thanksgiving before approaching God for my petitions and supplications. In no long time, I discovered that I have developed a heart of praise by scheduling a

specific time for praise and thanksgiving. It dawned on me that I was taking several things for granted. I began to appreciate the smallest of things and became contented with life, love, family, careers and just about everything around me. It was an amazing turnaround.

King David was a model of a man with a heart of praise. On the day the Ark came back to Jerusalem, it was an unprecedented procession, according to the Scriptures. The Asaph family was appointed Praise Leaders. Government officials, musicians and priests accompanied 'The Ark of Covenant' to its prepared place. David's heart overflowed with praise as he danced and played along among his people. God is worthy of our praise for many reasons. Everything in this world came by and through Him and most

importantly, He is our God and we are His people. A child respects his father just because of the relationship; in the same vein, we are to worship God because He is our Father.

Secondly, our souls long to love and to be loved by someone bigger than ourselves. If people refuse to praise God, they will praise someone or something else. For the Christian, praise is an unconditional reflex, a natural response to God's love. Praise overflows in the wonder of God and gratitude for

blessings. To make praise a priority, consider:

1. Develop a sense of wonder each time you approach His throne.

2. Read the Bible's praises in Psalms and other books.

3. Write your songs of praise in your own words.

4. Make a list of God's attributes.

5. Make a list of what you will thank God for.

6. Praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment of God.

7. Fellowship with others in praise and worship.

JEREMIAH 1:1–9

*MESSAGE*

Sometimes, a child of God feels lost, useless and unfortunate. He feels overwhelmed, confused, weak and helpless. He might be looking at injustice and evil but helpless and useless. This world can seem impossible to change or influence. Even the church may seem too lost for redemption. It might be suffering or anything; the point is that one looks like a victim instead of a victor. That is the time to remember Jeremiah!

If God knew Jeremiah before his mother became pregnant with

him, then He certainly knows every other person that early, too. If God knew you before you were conceived (when you existed in hope and

had no practical existence. You were a mere idea because your

parents had not come together), He certainly knows you now that you

are full-fledged human beings.

God did not just know you mentally. He knew you today from your pre-existent time! He knew your today's challenges. He prepared for your today before your parents came together to have you!

Therefore, cheer up. Be strong. Be hopeful. He will put His word of power in you. He will strengthen you. As He knew you, He also knew the opposition you would be facing. He has already made you a winner. Don't argue with God. Take His word in your mouth and go in His Spirit. You are an over-comer!

2 Kings 4:8, 14-17

*MESSAGE*

An online report of a telephone interview with Femi Otedola reveals how he got the happiness that money couldn't give him. He mentioned about three different stages of happiness he attained without finding true happiness. The fourth stage he said ''was the time a friend of mine asked me to buy a wheelchair for some disabled children. Just about 200 kids. At the friend's request, I immediately bought the wheelchairs. But the friend insisted that I go

with him and hand over the wheelchairs to the children. I got ready and

went with him...

There I gave these wheelchairs to these children with my own hands. I saw the strange glow of happiness on the faces of these children. I felt real joy inside me. When I decided to leave one of the kids grabbed my legs. I tried to free my legs gently but the child

stared at my face and held my legs tightly. I bent down and asked the child: Do you need something else? The answer this child gave me not only made me happy but also changed my attitude toward life completely.

This child said: "I want to remember your face so that when I meet you in heaven, I will be able to recognize you and thank you once again."

Many around us today are hopeless and downtrodden, they just

need someone to come by and be a channel of blessing. God said to

Abraham "I will bless thee and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a Blessing." Also in Gen 22:8° (NIV) "And through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed." Don't be the one to tell your brother or sister to go home and pray when God has made you someone's answered prayer. You are the channel God will use to bless others.

*MESSAGE*

Sometimes challenges come unannounced as a result of that many stay or run away from their responsibilities, living the life of a coward. It is not always easy to face challenges, one must always take the bull by its horns.

The things you should do are:

1. Know the God you serve (Jeremiah. 32:27).

2. Have faith in Him (2 Chronicles 20:20).

3. Believe He can do all things (Eph 3:20)

4. Depend on Him wholly(Ps 118:8)

5. Listen for directives from Him (Prov 3:5)

6. Do exactly as He said (Josh 22:5)

7. Do not doubt God's ability (lsa 40:10)

8. Believe in yourself (Phil 4:13)

9. Face the challenge (Ps 27:1)

10. After winning, return praises to God.

Whatever challenge you are facing today, know that God is greater than them. Be it financial, social, marital or spiritual. Let the word of God spur you into taking up that challenge, victory is Sure.

1 Chronicle 16:14-29

*MESSAGE*

The presence of God in a man, people, tribe or nation makes a world of difference between the person and others. In the Old Testament, it was symbolized by the Ark of

Covenant, where the Shekinah Glory always manifests. It foreshadows a lot of things, viz: God's Presence, Protection, Provisions, Procreation, Pleasure, Predominance, Praise and Honour.

In our text for the day, David reviewed the presence of the lord on Israel and himself and attributed everything they have achieved to the presence and Glory of the Lord. Wherever the presence of the Lord appears anything and everything is possible: To his children unspeakable blessings, and foes, grievous judgement.

When Moses enquired of the Glory of the Lord, He answered and assured that his goodness and graciousness will be available for him. What do we ask from the Lord today? Do we even have any time to be before him or we are distracted by the cares of this life? Intimacy with the Lord is cultivated into his presence on total surrender. We obtain grace and mercy in his presence. If God could not abandon Moses, David, Paul and other elects despite their infractions and failings, he will also ensure you will reach the finish line and strongly too.

🍲 *SHABACH YESHUA ENDLESS GOODNESS DAILY DEVOTIONAL* *Tuesday 2nd April 2023* *TOPIC:* *TEARS OF REPENTANCE

🔑 *KEY VERSE:*

"...a broken and a contrite heart, O God thou wilt not despise" (PSALM 51:17b)

*TODAY'S TEXT*

Jonah 3:6-10

*MESSAGE*

We serve a compassionate God. He does not resist tears of

repentance. He does not hesitate to show mercy to a repentant heart. Unlike humans he quickly withdraws His anger when any person who falls into sin quickly realizes from where he

has fallen, the grievousness of our sins notwithstanding. God is merciful, full of compassion, slow to anger and unfailing love.

Tears here refer to emotional or physical tears which flow as a result of crying or weeping. These tears are associated with all emotions. It is often triggered by strong emotional stress, anger, suffering, mourning or physical pain. God watches to see when we are grieved over our sins.

In the scripture above, Prophet Jonah was sent to Nineveh to proclaim God's word to cause repentance, but he allowed his personal

grievances to overtake his obedience. To demonstrate that no man has the power to overrule God's mercy, Jonah was driven to Nineveh in the belly of a fish contrary to his will, the people of Nineveh heard the message of Jonah, and they proclaimed a mournful fast through which they cried to God. The All-Merciful God saw their tears of repentance and responded. Jonah 4:10-11 "Then said the LORD, Thou hast pitied the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night: And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than One hundred and twenty thousand persons that cannot discern between their right and their left hand; and also much cattle"? Who says God is not careful over his creation? He numbers even the hairs on our heads. Let's approach God with tears of repentance, he will hear us even if our sins are as red as

crimson he will make them white as snow.
