πŸ”‘ *KEY VERSE:*

"Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for myself will help you, declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel" (lsa. 41:14, NIV)

*TODAY'S TEXT*

Genesis 27:1-29; 32:22-32

*MESSAGE*

Some years ago I attended a send-off ceremony for a prominent

religious leader. During testimony time, people were asked to say something about the man, and everyone testified glamorously, lavishing encomium on him. No one spoke on the contrary. Judging from the testimonies, he seemed not to have any weakness. But unlike God, He tells us both the good and bad sides of our lives. He starts with

the bad side of us so that He can teach us how He can change bad to good;

choose weak and foolish things of this world and make them mighty.

God referred to Jacob as "worm Jacob" instead of wonderful or glorious

Jacob. He could have addressed him as mighty Jacob or Prince Jacob

since He had changed him before this time. We have two great lessons to learn from God here. First, we are to learn what God can do in the lives of people. Second, we are to learn not to forget our roots but to look back to where God picked us from and appreciate Him.

Jacob, before his encounter with God, had some of the characteristics of a worm. He was an old heel-catcher, a supplanter, a trickster and a subtle person who deceived his blind father, Isaac, supplanted his elder brother, Esau, took his blessing and ran away to Haran. There he became very rich in cattle, wives and children, yet he was

spiritually bankrupt. Despite his glorious vision and experience in the wilderness of Haran, he was not changed and his harmful strength was not broken until he met God at Jabbok Ford and he became a prince. No man who encounters God remains the same. It is not enough to be a member of a church. The apostle Paul said that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away and behold all things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17). It pays to be a Christian. Are you a child of God? If you are not, please decide now. God who transformed worm Jacob into a prince is ready to transform you today.

*TODAY'S TEXT*

Psalm 7:13-17; Eccl. 10:8; Psalm. 9: 15

*MESSAGE*

In November 2020, a gang of armed robbers in Nassarawa State set up a plan to rob and if necessary kill a successful businesswoman named Rebecca in Lafia, the State capital. The gang knew the woman's routine well. They knew that on the day she conducted the highest sales in her shop, she would usually not return to her house but

would sleep in a rented motel for security reasons.

On one such day, a Thursday, the gang leader set up the operation as foolproof as he could and sent his boys to execute it. The said gang leader was a member of the same market association as the target of the robbery. The gang leader's father was also a merchant selling the same wares with the same target, Madam Rebecca. That was how the gang leader was able to monitor her movements and set up the operation.

However, when the gang leader's boys stormed the room where the madam was supposed to be lodging, they heard a man's voice which challenged them and he attacked them with a spear. They fired a hail of shots at him and killed him instantly. Later, it turned out that the victim was the gang leader's father who had decided to retire to a hotel that night after doing heavy business that day. For strange reasons, the business did not go well for Madam Rebecca that day and she went home sorrowfully while the gang

leader's father had all the "luck"' and came to the hotel to enjoy. Men and brethren, "Back to sender" is a solid spiritual principle set in motion by God to protect His chosen. Proverbs 26:27 declares, "Whoso

diggeth a pit shall fall therein... "Ecclesiastes 10:8 states, "He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it, and whoso brèaketh a hedge, a serpent shall bite him."

Psalm 9:15 says, "The heathen are sunk in the pit that they have made: in the net which they hid is their own feet taken." These scriptures leave us with no doubt that anyone who sets up a trap to catch a true child of God will be caught by his/her traps. So child of God, rejoice and serve God

boldly.

πŸ”‘ *KEY VERSE:*

"Thus says the Lord: if you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night so that there will not be day and night in their season, then my covenant may also be broken with David my servant..." (Jeremiah 33:20,21a, NKJV)

πŸ“– *TODAY'S READING:*
Jeremiah 33: 19-22

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*
Joshua 9-11

*COMMENTARY*
In the beginning, God said, "let there be light". He divided the light from the darkness. The light he called Day and the darkness He called night (Genesis 1:3-5). Since creation till now, God's covenant of day and night has remained. It has never changed.

At another time in history, when David desired to build a temple for God, God stopped him (II Sam. 7:1-17; 1 Chr. 17:1-15). Just for his desire to do righteousness, God had to give him an everlasting reward. God assured him of his son being on his throne forever besides other promises.

During the time of Jeremiah, Judah had backslid. God allowed Babylon to besiege them. As exile was looming, the people concluded that God had abandoned His people and that no one would sit on David's throne again hence making God's covenant with David null and void. God immediately responded to their wrong conclusion. Through Jeremiah, God assured Judah that as His covenant with day and night stands since creation so must His covenant with David stand. His son must be on his throne despite the exile.

Today, God is saying, as my covenant with day and nightstands, so shall my covenant with you stand. Be sure that all His promises to you will surely come to pass. He is not a man that will change His words. Although the condition may look unfavourable, don't change your stand with God. His covenant with you is unbreakable.

πŸ”‘ *KEY VERSE:*
"The Lord is neigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth." (KJV). Psalm 145:18

πŸ“– *TODAY'S READING:*
James 5:13- 18

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*
Joshua 5-8

*COMMENTARY*
Prayer is largely a request made for a particular need to be met. Lawyers usually make a prayer to the judge to grant a need.

Since, we must always pray, particularly, for God to meet our needs, we must pray rightly to have our prayers to be answered. There are conditions given as we go through the Bible, to get our prayers answered. One wishes to
discuss six of these from James 5 as keys that can guarantee an answer to prayer.

πŸ—️ Key Number One: Confess your faults to one another (James 5:16a)
πŸ—️ Key Number Two: Pray for one another (James 5:16b)
πŸ—️ Key Number Three: Pray effectually (James 5:16c)
πŸ—️ Key Number Four: Pray fervently (James 5:16d)
πŸ—️ Key Number Five: Pray earnestly (James 5:17b)
πŸ—️ Key Number Six: Be a righteous man like Elijah (James 5: 17-18).

Sin or fault is a hindrance to answered prayer. David said that if we harbour iniquity in our hearts, the Lord will not hear. God calls us to confess our sins to him in repentance (2 Chronicles 7:14). God also calls us to confess our sins to one another (James 5:16a). Jesus Christ (during his earthly ministry) taught that when we come to the place of prayer or worship and there remember that someone has something against you, leave your gift before the altar and go reconcile with the person (Matthew 5:23-24)

Joshua 1-4

*COMMENTARY*

Whatever God will do for his children must first of all be in the Will of God. In 1 John 5:14, we see that what gives us confidence in approaching God with our requests is the will of God.

In Exodus 23:22, He says, if thou shall indeed obey his voice and do all that I speak..." The conditions given in Exodus 23:22, 25 are; obedience to His voice; doing all that He speaks; and serving the Lord. The condition given in 3 John 2 is, a wish. God wishes all to have health and wealth but only those who meet the conditions of his Wish will get them.

If one wants to enjoy health and wealth that comes from God, one must adhere to principles given in the Bible. These

principles include;

1. Acquaint yourself with God and also be at peace with Him (Job. 22:21-25).

2. Change your pattern of thinking and speaking (Proverbs 23:7; 18:20-21; Matthew 12:34-37)

3. Have something doing to earn income (Deuteronomy 28:8;).

4. Be diligent in whatever you have to do. (Proverbs 22:29; 6:9-11)

5. Be a faithful Tither (Malachi 3:10-12)

6. Be a giver (Proverbs 11:24; Luke 6:38)

Deuteronomy 32-34; Psalm 91

*COMMENTARY*
Salvation is a miracle. A miracle is something beyond man. A miracle cannot be procured by the efforts of man. Only God can bring about a miracle. However, human beings need to cooperate with God to bring about a miracle. Salvation is one of the miracles an individual can experience from God. Salvation is a divine process whereby lost human beings are reconciled with God through Jesus Christ. Salvation satisfies the
justice of God and as well provokes the Love of God towards mankind.

But salvation is not easy. It costs God himself to procure salvation for mankind and mankind is supposed to freely access salvation but this has not been possible for many human beings because the god of this earth has blinded their minds (2 Corinthians 4:4). It requires the divine touch of God for a blinded unbeliever to be saved.

This was the difficulty a religious teacher by name of Nicodemus was faced with in John 3, when Jesus Christ told him, "YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN" He couldn't understand this. Did Jesus Christ mean that he was to enter the mother's womb again to be born? (verse 4). Jesus Christ's statement perplexed Nicodemus, who asked, HOW CAN THIS BE? (Verse 9); this must take a miracle! He wondered. Indeed, salvation takes a miracle. The first birth is a natural birth in which two parents and four grandparents contribute to what characterizes a child who later becomes an adult. The second birth is a spiritual birth in which a person is conceived in the realm of the spirit and by the Spirit of God.

Psalm 77 was a personal testimony of Asaph about God's miracles in his life and that of the nation of Israel. He began this testimony in verse 1 by talking about how God gave him victory over his troubles. In verse 2, he speaks about what shook his faith and almost destroyed it. In verses 3
through to 4, he explains how desperate he was to seek God for the answers to his troubles, how he used to weep all night and also fast for some days without end. In verses 5 through 6, he complained about how God used to be with the nation of Israel and how it was no more. In verses 7 through 9, he begins to ask many difficult rhetorical questions in his heart that bordered on whether God had forgotten the nation of Israel. In verses 10 through 20, he remembered the glorious old days when God led the nation of Israel, through Moses and Aaron, through the red sea and several enemies. Imagining how these came through, Asaph exclaimed.

God performs miracles and He is the same God of yesterday, today and forever. God is set to perform miracles for you today. Pray and believe God for a miracle today!

Ponder carefully on what is said about alcohol, it expresses the consciousness of danger. As a wise and serious-minded person in life, I mean a serious-minded fellow you will not want to give in to drinking alcohol which is labelled a mocker and a brawler. Those who give in to alcohol have allowed it to control them, and alcohol as a mocker will make you become a mockery.

Therefore, if you do not want to become silly and stupid, you have to avoid alcoholic drinks. Verse 3 of the text gives Some basic and specific instructions that even if you are confident of your strength and ability, wisdom demands that you do not parade or look for an opportunity to prove it. What kind of person are you? Being a sluggard does not only imply drunkenness, it also touches some other aspects of our lives

too, e.g. being lazy, and not giving to study. As someone in the

academic line, if you fail to study hard then you are planning

to fail woefully in your exams. If you don't work hard on what you are doing, you shall have nothing good and meaningful to show for it.

Yes, I am not ignorant that God is our provider "Jehovah Jireh" but he said that whatever you lay your hands upon Will prosper it, so make sure you lay hands on something, and

whatsoever your hands find doing do it well because there you

will be blessed. In all you do, learn to cultivate the habit of hardworking, oh

πŸ“– *TODAY'S READING:*

Hebrews 12:5-11

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*

Deuteronomy 24-27

 *COMMENTARY*

The Lord himself corrects us when we do wrong or digress, this correction are mostly for his people.

Chastisement means a rebuke for making mistake, correction as it primarily implies is there to make us change

our ways that are not pleasing to God almighty.

The father and mothers of today can correct their children in the same way that God our father correct his children. He does not correct everyone but He chastises his children.

If as a Christian you find yourself sinning against God and there is no chastisement from him then note you are aligned

with him as a CHILD HE LOVES HE WILL never leave you to errors without Chastisement.

If God doesn't correct you, you are not his child, quickly run to God and let him chastise you for your wrongdoings you must receive his chastisement.

ln as much parents correct their children whom they love and never allow them to continue in their wrong, some parents mostly use canes to correct their children even when most are to give them long-lasting scars, but the love in his chastisement is still loving.

It is not a joke or fun for one to be corrected, it is always painful, but learning to obey by going with the correction will help us live in peace.

 *COMMENTARY*

Paul on this fateful day had an appointment with destiny. He never knew that his encounter with Samuel the prophet was going to change him from an ordinary person to the most honourable man in the nation. An encounter with just one person, a man of God turned round the life of Saul.

When it comes to relationships, how do you handle relationships? Do you know that every relationship God brings your way is for a purpose? Some of us can be very poor in handling our relationships with the Holy Spirit, which has been an obstacle to our spiritual development.

How Saul's family is described in this text shows that Saul came from the least family in Israel. God can take the least and make it the greatest. You can come from a poor background, but God can turn things around for you and make something great out of your life.

So don't let your background discourage you from aiming at the best or the highest, just have faith in God. Crave for an encounter with him and things will begin to change for good in your life. Look at Saul's story, how things began to change for him in quick succession, he left the house as the Son of Kish and now came back as the king of Israel after a divine encounter with Prophet Samuel. Crave for an encounter with Jesus today and start experiencing a changed life.

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*

Deuteronomy 17-20

 *COMMENTARY*

In our text today, the Preacher inferred that there is a place for swiftness, strength, wisdom, understanding, and skill in the affairs of life. However, as good as these capabilities are, he asserted that they do not necessarily determine the height we can attain in life. Rather, our attitude the way we manage these capabilities in a given season and the context of the opportunities embodied in such season is what determine the kind of result they deliver to us. So, excellence in life does not necessarily answer to human capabilities like swiftness, strength, wisdom, understanding, skill, etc. Thus, the two major variables on which excellence in life is predicated are Time and Opportunity; and our attitude towards them matters a lot.

Time and chance happen to them all. Every one of us is given time. In that time are embodied opportunities; for no season of life comes barren. Yet, being in a particular season does not guarantee that one must access all the benefits embodied in such a season. Proper understanding of such a season, how the opportunities embodied in it could be accessed, and aligning our actions accordingly are the three attitudinal factors that guarantee success. Put differently, our attitudes determine the level of excellence we can attain in life. If we have great capabilities and go on to excel incredibly in life. Time and opportunities stare you in the face every other moment. Never waste them!

πŸ”‘ *KEY VERSE:*

"...And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant...Mathew 20:27

πŸ“– *TODAY'S READING:*

Matthew 20:20-28

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*

Deuteronomy 14-16

 *COMMENTARY*

In the Christian concept of service, which is the best, the place of service is not the place to serve self. It is not a place to exploit other people while we amass glory, praise and other gains for ourselves in the name of service. The place of service is rather a place of effacing self to allow ourselves to be channelled through which Christ flows to reach people. It ought to be said of our service in any place that, "the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned" (4:16). Thus, our

service should be an embodiment of hope, restoration and advancement or added value. It should be something that leaves

the recipients better than it met them.

We fall prey to the perils of ambition and pride found in the matrix of service when we use the place of service to serve ourselves. Because we become so locked up in our "self-love," looking for what is in the place of service for us, instead of thinking about how best to make people benefit from our service. It becomes all about us, our gains, our pride, our interest groups, and our pleasure. By so doing, we miss that standard of service that enthrones and miss our steps on the rungs of the ladder of greatness. As we stumble, our gifts and skills tumble and become so vitiated that Christ could not pass through us.

Whatever service we render, it is not designed to show how great we are but primarily meant to help others see how they too could fit into the bigger picture of life. When our focus is beyond ourselves in our service fields, we will be able to build a future

that will outlast us.

Psalm 90:12, and Proverbs 14:8 don't neglect the fact that there are enemies who do not want or wish to see your dreams come through. You Must Pray against dream hackers, you must rely only on God's leading to see you through. Note that if you fail in the days of adversity your strength is small. We can see here in Genesis37:5-11, Joseph succeeded in the land of Egypt against all odds; there were his brothers who sold him to the Ishmaelites, he became a servant to Potiphar and Potiphar's wife tried to seduce him, he didn't fall for it because he was focused and had the fear of God.

Every obstacle is to stop you from reaching your goal, be careful and watchful.

"If you don't fear God, you will not obey Him, if you fail to obey Him, you will not reach your goal"

Joseph was thrown into prison for a crime he didn't commit, yet God elevated him to the office of prime minister. He was second in command only to Pharaoh in Egypt. How did he succeed? Focus, determination and complete reliance on God.

Deuteronomy 8-10

 *COMMENTARY*

The redeemer in the oriental law of kinship is the one depended upon to defend, avenge, bring back the property of a dead relative, and even marry and care for the widow and anyone left in the family of a deceased person. He is the one trusted and all hope is hung on him, but sometimes the redeemer may be weak and anyone trusting in him is a big risk. A weak redeemer cannot defend the

family, or avenge those persecuting the family.

When Babylon was persecuting the people of Judah, the people of Judah appeared to be at the mercy of the Babylonians, but the prophet Jeremiah declared as a warning to Babylon that Judah has a Redeemer. Who is not weak but strong; who is not a mere man but his name is the Lord of the host. He can conveniently avenge the enemies of Judah, he can defend them. He can save them, and shake and trouble the Babylonians. If the God of Judah is our God, he will arise to defend us against any force persecuting us. Any force trying to deny us the blessings of God, our God and redeemer will shake any kingdom rising against us and give them more trouble than they have in store for us. He will rise and settle every controversy.

History demonstrates, again and again, the powerful way that God works on behalf of His people. Our comfort in distress lies in the fact that our redeemer is strong. He is not a weak redeemer. He is stronger than any enemy. He will overpower all the forces that are against us. The Lord of hosts is his name, and he will answer to his name. It is our comfort that the Lord of hosts shall thoroughly plead our cause, that he may give rest to our land from enemies roundabout. God is working on your behalf today in ways you cannot see with your

naked eye. Our Redeemer is strong. He is our eternal Advocate and vigorously defends our cause before our Father in heaven. Hallelujah!

 *COMMENTARY*

The text speaks of the rejection and persecution Saul (Paul) faced immediately after his conversion. The disciples never accepted him as one of them. They still saw him as Saul, the persecutor of the church and never allowed him to join them. Barnabas did not only encourage Paul, but he also brought him to the disciples and convinced them that Paul was a changed man after his encounter on the way to Damascus. After a while, the Grecians wanted to kill him because he disputed against them; hence, taking him to his town Tarsus, by the brethren.

At another time, Barnabas went to Tarsus and brought Paul to Antioch. It was there that the Lord called him into missionary work with Barnabas. After a serious contention during their second missionary journey, Paul and Barnabas parted. The missionary activities of Barnabas were never heard of again. It was Paul, Paul, and Paul all the way.

Are you an old believer in the Lord or a strong Christian? Please be an encourager. Encourage the young ones; the new coverts; the weak in faith; the discouraged; the confused and the backsliders. Visit them, teach them the word, guide them properly, pray for them and be a good model. Don't join the group of those whose work is only to find fault and speak against the young and weak ones. Your encouragement to them will not only strengthen but stabilize them in the Lord.

Like Barnabas, your name may not be heard so much but the Lord may use you to groom a global preacher. Therefore, do not

 *COMMENTARY*

God, our Creator is not a man. He is Almighty God. One of His attributes is "Sovereignty". By His sovereignty, it means He has an absolute right to govern and dispose of His creatures as He pleases. God possesses infinite superiority, absolute ownership of all and absolute dependence of all things on Him, while He is independent of all His creatures.

This same God loves us so much; He cares for us, and answers our prayers; but sometimes, we cannot understand His ways. It is on this premise He warned that we should not be offended by the way He does His things for His ways and thoughts are higher than ours.

The heart cries of many Bible heroes was not met. Some were even offended by Him. He remains the loving God who answers prayers. Saul hated David but Jonathan loved David. Saul tried many times to kill David, but Jonathan helped in saving his life. Saul never desired David to succeed him but Jonathan worked to enthrone David. On the day they made their covenant, Jonathan gave David his goodwill message and wished to become David's deputy. In the end, the good Jonathan died with the wicked Saul (his father). The expectation of Jonathan to be the Deputy King of Israel never came to pass.

John the Baptist in his own time queried if Jesus was the one he preached to prepare his way or whether they were expecting another. Still, Jesus never visited him in prison until he was beheaded.

Beloved, are you like one of those Bible characters? Don't be offended by God. Your mates are ahead of you; that sickness refuses to go; where others succeeded you failed; your aspirations seem not to be met etc, don't be offended by God. Deuteronomy 1-2

 *COMMENTARY*

John 8:3-11 reveals Jesus Christ's habit and character; it shows what Jesus Christ will do when a person is there or not there. This is not a case of showing one personality to people and having a hidden character when no one is there. Everyone who is a Christian should emulate

Christ in the open and in secret. A question which must guide the thought, speech and action of a Christian should be, WHAT WILL CHRIST DO IN THIS SITUATION?

In the text there came the religious leaders (The scribes and the Pharisees) who dragged a woman to him, accusing her of being caught in adultery and demanding His judgment over her case. According to the Law of Moses, she was supposed to be stoned to death (Deuteronomy 22:22).

Jesus stooped and wrote on the ground. Many questions begging for answers must have been running through His mind: such as; (1) How was the woman caught? (2) Where is the man the woman supposedly committed adultery with? (3) Could it be that the man was paid to trap this woman and also trap Jesus Christ in Judgment? (4) Were they planning to pitch Jesus Christ against the Law of Moses?

When Jesus Christ lifted his head, He surprised everybody. He did not contest anything. He did not speak for the woman or the religious leaders, He simply threw a question of guilt to everyone, "Any one of you who is without any sin, should be the first to cast a stone. Before you take that action or say something to condemn another person, ask yourself the question, WHAT WILL YESHUA THE  CHRIST DO IN THIS CASE

Genesis 41:41-43

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*

Numbers 35-36

 *COMMENTARY*

A divine project is a systematically planned work that is controlled by God. The project can never be abandoned or neglected. In other words, you are a project of God that cannot be rejected. Generally, God would never abandon you until He finishes his work concerning you. The way of man is different from the way of God. When a man starts a project, he sometimes

abandons it because of a lack of finance and materials to finish it. But when God embarks on a project, He finishes and perfects it. In all your plans and fulfilment of destiny, God would certainly complete it in your life until the day of rapture.

From our text in Zechariah 4, Zerubbabel's success was not military strength nor his power but the Spirit of God. During a project, obstacles and challenges do appear. However, in the case of Zerubbabel, all hurdles disappeared. He laid the foundation of the Temple and with the help of God, the project was completed. In jubilation, the people of Israel shouted, 'Beautiful, Beautiful! You might indeed have been concluded and abandoned by your family, relatives, and friends; you feel there is no hope, may great wonders from above change your status in Jesus's name. When God is involved in your situation, you can never be rejected.

In Genesis 41:41-43, Joseph was a divine project of God. He was imprisoned due to false allegations levelled against him by Potiphar's wife. But God remembered Joseph, and he was appointed governor of Egypt. Every subject bowed down to him. In addition, he received a royal decoration from the king, and Joseph was honoured, for his brother's conspiracy, he translated God's divine and completed the project.

Child of God, you are a contract in God's hand that must be completely executed and commissioned. No matter the delay and affliction facing your life, you shall end well. Be assured, victors never give up. Don't!

πŸ“– *TODAY'S READING:*

Deuteronomy 2:5-10

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*

Numbers 33-34

 *COMMENTARY*

In our text, God instructed the Israelites through Moses that they should not fight for the land of Esau, Mt Seir, and the land of the Moabites because He would not give to them no matter how much they would cry, pray, struggle or fight for those lands, which He had already given to those two nations, though they were bad people outside His Covenant. This clearly shows that God is a just God who respects the rights of people. He is not a meddler. He is not the author of confusion and He would like His children to follow His footsteps as they seek to possess their possessions, whether spiritual or material, in this life. Ambitions that are not of God will surely crash and meet with a brick wall because God will not give grace and other Divine variables for their realization. This will lead to frustration, the

inability to achieve set goals.

One of the reasons people fail in life is that they chase after those things which God has not appointed for them. Hence they go contrary

to the will of God. This may be due to ignorance, selfish ambition or greed. The scripture says, "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures" (James 4:3).

To make achievements and be happy in life, you must be careful to hear from God whether it is God's perfect will to embark upon any project, marry a certain person, get a particular job, get a particular office, travel or relocate to a particular nation or city, study a particular course in any institution, etc. When you are in God's perfect will, success will come almost effortlessly, all things being equal, though some may require perseverance and resilience. We must learn from our text and heed God's warning not to pursue struggle, pray, fast, cry, sow seeds, lobby or fight for what is not ours from the Lord. Let's move into our bonafide inheritance in Christ Jesus and God's grace will be abundantly sufficient for us to get there this year and beyond.

πŸ“– *TODAY'S READING:*

Deuteronomy 1:6-10

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*

Numbers 31-32

 *COMMENTARY*

God, Himself had to challenge the Israelites to leave the area where they had stayed for too long, that they should go and possess the land of Canaan which He gave to their forefathers on oath. The text shows that their stagnation and lack of progress were not the wills of God. God wasn't happy with their lack of progress, and sadly, the mountain region had become their comfort zone, as long as manna continued to fall from heaven. It was a call to break camp and advance into their God-given possession, the land of Canaan.

This is another year to increase our age. We shouldn't continue to remain stagnant in poverty, sinful lifestyle, spiritual babyhood and infertility, not getting married if you are up to the age, unemployment, mediocrity, low level of educational attainment and no promotion in place of work, whereas God wants better things and higher levels of life and achievements for us. God is never happy with any of His children who is comfortable with negative experiences which are contrary to His perfect will. God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants (Psalm 35:27). He wants His children to grow spiritually, too (1 Peter 2:1-3; 2 Peter 3:18).

Admittedly, some of the factors which inhibited the progress of the Israelites are the same factors that are responsible for the failure of several people to make progress in life today. They include ignorance of God's promises and His perfect will, laziness, lack of vision, wrong company, complacency, curses, evil covenant and satanic attacks, living in sin, not studying God's word, not praying effectively, not

joining a Church where "iron sharpens iron"(Prov. 27: 17) etc. Unbelief was a major setback among the Israelites which made them spend forty years in the wilderness instead of forty days getting into

the Promised Land, despite being blessed and empowered by God.

Vision, determination, robust spiritual life, hard work, good company, diligence, effective prayer and faith in God will launch you into your God-given possessions this year.

"And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me". (2 Corinthians 12:9)

πŸ“– *TODAY'S READING:*

2 Corinthians 12:6-9.

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*

Numbers 28-30

 *COMMENTARY*

When grace is provoked, disgrace is revoked. Saul, though a learned man was a religious extremist and terrorist of no mean mean repute, who rubs minds with renegades the most unreasonable class of people-zombies. It is unthinkable to imagine, let alone to see a reasonable, responsible and well-respected personality under the Mile-2 bridge in Lagos or at the bus stop wielding crooked weapons like machetes, stones, broken bottles or sharp objects. This was Saul's situation; he was in a spiritual, economic, emotional, moral, social and career mess until grace jammed and freed him from them all.

What is Grace? Grace is a gift from God which has nothing with what you did or could do to receive it. Many have defined grace as unmerited favour from God. It is God's gift to mankind which we did not and can never earn but He chose to freely give us. Grace turns noticeable and undeniable weakness to perfect strength. Grace converts a sinner to a saint. Grace cancels debts, offers yet another chance, vacates the death sentence, thwarts satanic agenda, brings unparalleled blessings and fulfils God's intent concerning an individual. Grace qualifies the unqualified. It beautifies the unworthy and speaks for the voiceless. When grace speaks, other voices cease and every ear listens with readiness to follow instructions to the letter.

What is Disgrace? It is the condition of being strongly and generally disapproved. It is the loss of honour, respect, reputation or favour. Sincerely, no one anywhere wants to identify with anyone who is a disgrace; on the contrary, people avoid such a person like a plague. Irrespective of whether the disgrace is self-incurred or not. If you doubt me ask the woman with the issue of blood or a leper.

*How Do I Provoke Grace?* Grace is provoked by faith in the

finished work of Christ on the cross. It is called ABC- Accept, Believe & Confess Christ and His promises.

 *COMMENTARY*

Obedience means words or actions denoting submission to authority; dutifulness. Ordinarily, children are expected to be obedient to the instructions of their parents in the Lord. Parents' instructions to their children should not contradict the bible they use in training them in their family altar.

As a parent, you also have parents, especially those who are still alive. When they give you instructions in the presence of your children, you better obey even when those children are there or not there so that you will not be digging your own grave or you will be the one planting the seeds of

disobedience in the lives of your children.

The commandment to obey is the first commandment with a

promise in the bible. The choice of not obeying one's parents in the bible has disastrous and big consequences while obeying them attracts a lot of blessings and long life.

As a God-fearing parent, you will not disobey your parents or disobey the norms of your working place or authority. I do not say the one's contrary to the bible. In your working place, if your resumption time is 7:00 am and you come by 7:30 am you are already going against such norms and it is against verse 9 of our today's chapter about the relationship with the masters and servants. Let us depart from all forms of disobedience, the consequences are always unbearable.

 *COMMENTARY*

Our memory verse says that you cannot build a house unless you obtain mercy from God, and neither can there be safety unless He provides it. In other words, there is virtually nothing good a man can achieve without the mercy of God which provides the platform for His help.

It is only by God's mercy that you can start and finish any project successfully. It doesn't matter how many bodyguards you have,

unless God has mercy on you, your life is not protected. You can

have bodyguards against hired assassins and armed robbers, but can you have bodyguards against sicknesses? Can you have bodyguards against spiritual attacks? Only God's mercy can truly protect you.

Many years ago, a young man who went to school abroad came back home and told his father about his experience. He, "Dad, I know that you sent me abroad to study because you love me, but thank your God that I did not end up disgracing you because of the people I associated with in school." The father was doing the right thing by sending his child to a good school, but, had it not been for the mercy of God, he would have regretted it. From my personal experience, I know you can get to the exam hall and just blank out. Farmers can have no harvest even though they did all that they would

to get one. A hardworking fisherman like Peter can fish all night and catch nothing (Luke 5:5). That is why wise people when they need help, ask God for mercy.

In Mark 10:47, Bartimaeus kept crying, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me", Jesus had mercy on him. In Luke 17:11-19, the ten

lepers saw Jesus, stood far away, and cried for mercy: they were cleansed. What is that problem you need a solution to? Change your prayer point today and just ask God for mercy.

 *COMMENTARY*

The word instruction simply means a direction or order. People fail in examinations because they do not heed instructions. God has a standard and pattern. His ways are not like ours and His standard differs from ours (Isaiah 55:8).

God wants His children to follow His instructions in everything they do for Him. Zeal for Him is not an excuse for disobeying His instructions. When one fails to adhere to His instructions he will have himself to blame. When He told Noah to build an Ark for the salvation of his family, he gave Noah the specifications (Gen. 6:13-22). The Bible says that Noah did just as the Lord commanded him. When God told Moses to build a Tabernacle for Him, He gave Moses the blueprint of the Tabernacle. God showed Moses the types of woods to be used for the building and furnishing, offerings and everything to be done in it (Exo. 25:1-37). Moses indeed built exactly according to God's pattern.

God's work must be done in His way. God is no respecter of persons. Failure to follow His instructions attracts His judgment. When Moses failed to follow God's instruction at Kadesh in the Wilderness of Sin and struck the Rock the second time he paid dearly for it. He was barred from entering into the Promised Land (Num. 20:7-13). David and the people of Israel flouted God's instruction and used a strange method to carry the Ark of God and when the oxen that were carrying the Ark stumbled Uzzah held the Ark and God struck him dead (I Chron. 13:1-4). King Saul was rejected for disobeying God's instruction (I Sam. 15:1-10). God does not justify the right thing that is done in the wrong way.

🍲 *SHABACH YESHUA ENDLESS GOODNESS DAILY DEVOTIONAL* Wednesday 6th March 2023 ____ *TOPIC:* *GET TO KNOW THE HUMAN CONSCIENCE*

πŸ”‘ *KEY VERSE:*

"I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Sprit, (Romans 9:1).

πŸ“– *TODAY'S READING:*

Genesis 3:1-7

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*

Numbers 14-15; Psalm 90

 *COMMENTARY*

The fall of man activated a consciousness and awareness of the presence of good and evil. In Genesis chapter 3,  Adam and Eve only became aware of their nakedness after eating the forbidden fruit. After the fall of man from the state of Innocence, (the state of a life governed by conscience), was

activated. This is what theologians call the dispensation of conscience. Although other dispensations followed the dispensation of innocence and conscience, man's actions, to a large extent, are still governed by his conscience.

The Bible has a record of nine (9), types of consciences. Although, some Bible scholars group them into 7, while others group them into 4 types. It's rather preferable to have them classified than grouped. Here are two classifications, (A) Negative conscience,

(1) Evil conscience, Heb.10:22, (2) Defiled conscience, Titus 1:15, (3) Seared conscience, 1 Tim. 4:2, (4) Weak conscience, 1 Cor. 8:12, (B) Positive conscience (1) Convicted conscience, John 8:9, Rom. 2:15, (2) Good conscience, Acts 23:1, (3) Conscience void of offense, Acts 24:16, (4) Purged conscience, and (5) Pure conscience, 1 Tim. 3:9. Each of these consciences reveals how we relate with people and God. They show why we treat people and God the way we do.

The apostle Paul said in, Titus 1:15, "To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure but even their mind and conscience are defiled". Those with an evil conscience will hardly see anything good in others and that would determine how he relates to them. When you see people live the way they do, a spiritual check-up would reveal the state of the conscience.

πŸ”‘ *KEY VERSE:*

"And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and [toward] men", Acts 24:16.

 *COMMENTARY*

The word "conscience" did not appear in the KJV, Old Testament, as can be observed in verse 5 of our text. However, the Hebrew word usually translated as "heart", does refer to conscience in several passages. The English Dictionary defines conscience as Internal awareness of a moral standard in the mind concerning the quality of one's motives and the consciousness of one's actions. Therefore, human conscience is a personal awareness of right and wrong that guides his actions.

Our text paints a very beautiful picture of the human conscience. King Saul was chasing David about to kill him. For once, his conscience did not smite him. But see David who cut off, just a part of King Saul's royal robe, (not his toe or finger), confessing and crying for mercy. Some people would justify David's action even if he had killed king Saul. David's conscience smote him for cutting Saul's skirt. That shows the type of conscience that he had. We often find ourselves doing worse things to our leaders, pastors, parents, children, etc. than David, cutting off Saul's skirts, yet without any remorse. This goes to show the type of conscience some of us have.

Many people justify their actions because they claim that their consciences did not prick them. That raises a million-dollar question about the type of conscience some people have. May the Lord help us to heed the wise man's counsel in, Prov. 4:23, Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life"

🍲 *SHABACH YESHUA ENDLESS GOODNESS DAILY DEVOTIONAL* Sunday 5th March 2023 ____ *TOPIC:* *PRAYER THAT BREAK LIMITATIONS*

πŸ”‘ *KEY VERSE:*

"...Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done (Matt 21:21).

πŸ“– *TODAY'S READING:*

1 Samuel 1:15-17, 26-27;

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*

Numbers 11-13

 *COMMENTARY*

We can all pray, but you and I know that many of our prayers are not answered. God still answers prayers. Prayers that get God's attention must go beyond the ordinary and normal.

This was Jacob's kind of prayer in Peniel; Hannah's kind of prayer

in Shiloh; Elijah's kind of prayer in Mount Carmel and Jabez's prayer. Such prayers must be burning with passion, marked by great intensity of feelings; a wrestling with God that courts no substitute.

Prayers that break limitation must be direct, focused and specific. You must know what you want and understand the will of God. Until you know the will of God, you will not know what to ask for and it is impossible to know the will of God until you know your Bible. The will of God is what gives you the confidence not to accept man's judgements and conclusions. The will of God keeps you away from competition and rivalry and keep your concentration in prayers.

Hannah did not bother about the taunting of Peninnah nor transfer her aggression to her husband, but took it to God. Jabez did not heap

the blame of his struggles on his mother who gave him a wrong name, but prayed earnestly from his heart and God answered and made him great.

There are certain limits that can only be broken by fasting and prayers. Fasting and prayer is higher level of prayer. Until your problem forces you to deny yourself food, that problem does not bother you enough. Hannah for the first time, according to the Scriptures rejected the husband's double portion of meathe l. Certain limits can be broken by fasting and prayers. LimThe limitation of thlimitationyour desire to fast and pray will surely conquer you. A local adage says "the mighty yam desires mighty fire. In all your prayers, do not overlook the ministry of your prophet; believe your prophet and do not neglect thanksgiving.

🎚 *CONTROLLING THOUGHTS*

There are no mountain prayers can that ot move, no limitation that prayers cannot break. Prayer that breaks limilimitationst goes beyond the ordinary; must follow the principle of faith: believe ardently before, during and after prayer.

πŸ™πŸΏ *PRAYER*

Oh God, grant me greater faith and strength to pray and get my answer. In the name of Yeshua. Amen
